It will open a wizard to import an account. I unchecked Outlook Express from XP Add/remove windows programmes rebooted and selected tick box which didn't seem to re install it was so quick. Any idea on how to get rid of the message?

I have an XP instllation disc and could repair XP from that but I actually have XP Pro installed. When I did a search for the *.dbx files I only checked the C:\ drive and for some reason when I switched the search to My Computer it found the .dbx I want to take a moment to say thanks to you for posting this. I have not done anything to the registery.

I have not done anything to the registery. Explorer will tell you in detail view.And a note: "Outlook Express can not open" is quite something else as "Outlook Express can not open the Inbox".
