If you have deleted it, create it somewhere then create an alias.Then drag the alias across to the Favorites sidebar.It was then fixed.

Much later, I discovered that I was getting an error -8060 from the Finder when I tried to open certain files. It seemed to have been some sort of display bug or glitch within Finder.
