You now have two approaches, set the date via the internet, or set the date manually. It's the first time for me, not being able to update my Mac. It worked on my MacBook pro 2009 with battery problems and the El capitan USB installer. Who knows when it might work again.

Apple used to maintain error logs for Mac OS 9, but since Mac OS X is more stable, and the internet came along it’s better to enter error messages into a Osx Error Code -50 You need to update the affected program because recent versions may work with Mac OS X Mavericks. Macos Error: -67065 You’ll rarely be the first or only person to encounter the error message, and there are lots of shared experiences and fixes out there.

This may look something like: Mon Jan 19 09:55:15 PST 1984 The entire line matters, as the date must be correct in order to install OS X, specifically the year, because Ended up I had to change it via cmdline for a new install and because I had reset the PRAM the date had been reset. Is this even the same issue? After correcting the date using terminal everything installed as expected.

After using the apps, I reset the Date&Time to automatic (takes a little while to occur). It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading" error. The internal SuperDrive recently died and I just removed it entirely. It downloads but will not open.
